(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – More rods with fenders. I am happy to say that the traditional-style resto-mod rods numbers are rising. We are seeing less and less billet aluminum and silhouette cars. Modern conveniences are not going away, but instead are being blended into the old style and hidden from view. Steel wheels are the rule verses the exception these days as well. Even with so many cars taking on a similar theme there is a lack of sameness among them. Colors are a big thing and there are SO many shades its crazy. Tire choices, upholstery, and powerplants are widely-varied. Most cars are being built with a nod to reliability, drivability, and comfort while keeping within traditional themes. Definitely not cookie-cutter stuff.

My personal favorites in this collection are:

The red Ford coupe with the radiused wheel openings and no running boards

The little yellow Anglia panel

The ’39 Chevy sedan and its camper. I’m really wanting a camper like this (affordable)

Enjoy.
