We have to thank long-time BangShifter Arlid Guldbrandsen for tipping us off to Mårten Carlsson’s photos of the 2016 Bilsport Elmia Custom Motor Show. We have known for years that there is a lot of American iron that has made the trans-Atlantic trek into Northern Europe and Scandinavia and we have enjoyed their take on cars that were unloved, that nobody wanted anymore, or in cases like the 1961 DeSoto in the lead photo, cars that you just don’t see, period here in the United States. But what caught our eye with Mårten’s photos is the diversity of the cars that were present: European, American classics, wild customs, rat rods, rally machines, and more graced the floor. There wasn’t one particular build type that stood out, but the quality of each and every car could be rated high. We may not be going to Sweden anytime in the near future, but it’s not for a lack of wanting to…if anything, the coverage you will see here will show why we really want to check it out for ourselves! Be sure to click below and check out the first gallery we are running from Elmia!
