(Photos: Mårten Carlsson) We actually saw an ad on Craigslist the other day for a clapped-out mid-1970s Camaro that had a rather bitter line in it: “You won’t find many of these left, most have been boxed up and shipped to Sweden.” Complain about the cars leaving all you want, but there is a positive: they absolutely love old American iron in Scandinavia and go to great lengths to keep the old cars that were cast-offs and leftovers in the States running and in good condition. Northern Europe understands hot-rodding very well, no matter the type…it doesn’t matter if you are into rat rods, customs, vans, whatever. You’ll find something that is right up your alley if you know where to look, and judging from what we are seeing from Mårten Carlsson’s view of the Bilsport Elmia Custom Motor Show, we like all of it. Paint, performance and presence are all a part of the show!
