(Photos by Charles Wickam) — We promised you a week’s worth of images from the 2013 Houston Autorama and by God we’re going to give them to you. This is our second big gallery from the show that Charles Wickam canvassed, studying the cars, rubbing elbows with guys like Gene Winfield, and generally owning the whole scene like a boss. Yesterday we showed you lots of the outdoor display cars so today we’re taking you inside for the whole gallery. From bone stock power puff 1970s Lincolns to pro street tri-five Chevys, we’ve got a taste of whatever turns your crank stuffed into this gallery.<\/p>\n

One thing we have come to realize after looking at a lot of these photos is that pro touring has actually established itself as a “real thing”. What we mean by that is the cars you see in this gallery on display that are finished immaculately and have the big wheel\/tire combo are not actually pro touring cars. Sure the look like them, but that’s not a car that will function like the driver will want it to in a competition\/performance driving setting. We’e not knocking those cars. They are amazingly finished and the workmanship is stunning, but we’d not call that a pro touring car. To us, pro touring has really moved into a realm of functionality that we haven’t seen in years past. It isn’t enough to just look the part anymore, at least in our opinion.<\/p>\n
