More Chevy-heavy stuff, but it\u2019s all cool.\u00a0 More diversity in the straight-axle galleries\u2026.\u00a0\u00a0 I promise.\u00a0\u00a0 We did get to see the blue, screaming Thunderbird that we\u2019d only previously seen at the NHRR.\u00a0 Standing next to that doing a burnout reminded me I\u2019d forgot my earplugs.\u00a0 Those weed-burners do sing.\u00a0 Randy Gore\u2019s shorty \u201957 only made a couple crazy wheelie passes so we managed to catch it during some of its more-tame moments.<\/p>\n

Joey Fey had his newly-repainted digger out and was going rounds.\u00a0 I always enjoy seeing a Vega or a Monza at the track and we got to watch a few examples of each make laps.\u00a0 The red 2nd<\/sup>-gen Camaro was a clean ride and chemically-assisted in scooting down the track.\u00a0 The orange \u201969 Camaro had a crank-driven blower a small child could walk through.\u00a0 They had some fueling issues, but I expect when that\u2019s all sorted it will suck its way to the traps rather quickly.\u00a0 Finally, we don\u2019t see a lot of Oldsmobiles at the track so it was nice to see one out hiking a tire and making noise.<\/p>\n

*Note\u2026..\u00a0 though the exposures look to be all over the place in the photos I swear it wasn\u2019t for our lack of trying to adjust for the clouds and their varying level of shade.\u00a0 Despite having three cameras capturing the action at once there were times we all couldn\u2019t make a correction fast enough to both freeze the action AND fix the light-metering.\u00a0 Guess that\u2019s why we\u2019re just out here having fun and not making big dollars like \u2018official\u2019 or professional photogs.<\/p>\n
