Speed Week follows a kind of natural arc and Sunday is part of that program. There are lots of spectators (several thousand this year) that come out for the weekend and then head back towards home on Monday morning. The place clears out a little, the racers really get down to business and the whole environment changes some. One of the most noticeable changes is that the cool vehicles that are just at the event to ferry spectators, hang out at the car show, and vamp for the crowds are greatly reduced in numbers.<\/p>\n

Many of the vehicles you see in this gallery that was shot throughout the day yesterday will be heading back to their respective corners of the world, lots of them with the salt still installed. Many of you freak when you see some of this nice stuff with salt caked all over it. As a guy who lives in saltville USA during the winter, I can understand that. We’re thinking that plenty of hose time and high pressure water are in the future for the majority of the cars and trucks you will see here.<\/p>\n

Oh, the box truck you will see that has a Diamond T cab is a GMC Top Kick chassis and drivetrain with the Diamond T face on it. Do you like it? It seems like that Diamond T face may be wearing an older International Grill. Discuss.<\/p>\n
