If you missed yesterday’s race photos from the 2014 U.S. Street Nationals, you missed a lot. But don’t fret, we’ve got the link to those below for you to check out, along with all kinds of new photos you haven’t even see yet thanks to Benoit “The Frenchman” Pigeon. Benoit is our resident Pro Mod addict, which is saying something since we’re all pretty well Pro Mod junkies around here. He actually goes to meetings, so that makes him a professional. Here’s what The Frenchman had to say about Bradenton’s U.S. Street Nationals.

(Text and Photos by Benoit Pigeon) We haven’t even gotten out of the month of January and yet we’ve already crowned the Champions at the first race for Pro Modified in 2014. This past weekend was the 2014 U.S. Street Nationals in Bradenton Florida where it’s always sunny and warm, even in January, while the rest of the country is freezing and wet. Wait…what? Oooopppsss. Apparently mother nature didn’t get the memo, as weather was definitely in charge with some unexpected rain on race day and near freezing temperatures for testing and qualifying. This was definitely the first time I’ve witnessed this in Florida.

Bradenton’s 2014 U.S. Street Nationals featured Outlaw and Extreme Pro mods, but the track still seemed to attract many northern racers who came for testing, racing, or a little of both. The Bad Bus was also a nice surprise to see after it’s partial destruction at Memphis over the summer last year. Flamholc was also racing with his newly acquired Viper in Extreme, however, problems prevented him from making it past the first round. D’April took both Number 1 Qualifier and won the class with a final round 3.702. In Outlaw, Tutterow who entered his blown Camaro, qualified number 1 and lost in the final against Kevin Fiscus and his turbocharged Mustang. Chris Rini had some problems in the semi-finals at the light, but set the fastest run of the weekend with a 3.846.

Since last month’s Snowbirds Nationals, the owners of Bradenton Motorsports Park have made even more improvements to the facility, adding some new score boards and painting the walls all along the track, some nice additions to the recent resurfacing. Racing is good at Bradenton and the track did hold 200+mph 1/8th mile runs, including a 209.83mph. We look forward to another great season of racing in Bradenton, although we hope the temps are just a little bit higher next time.
