(Photos by Joe Grippo) – It is a late season tradition that has held fast for decades. The famed NHRA Dutch Classic at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pennsylvania brings out some of the coolest cars that division one has to offer. From super stockers to top dragsters they are all there and while the cars are drastically different, everything on the property shares one thing…they can all do burnouts. Joe Grippo was at the event shooting photos and we’ll be doling them out to you over the next few days. We figured his burnout shots were the best way to get this train out of the station. Why? Because if you don’t like burnouts you are wrong!

If you are wondering what the car is in the lead photo, it is the High Anxiety machine of Travis Hess which could be the best looking stock eliminator car ever. This is a paint job that is like the sistine chapel of hot rodding. Obviously the talent apple did not fall far from the tree as Travis’s dad Bucky is one of the nation’s best car painters and body men as well. It is one magnificent automobile.
