(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – I am getting to where at cruises, shows, and other gatherings I try to catch more and more vehicles in motion. It could be a nod to the notion that most of these rides are driven to, from, and around the event despite the fact we tend to photograph them parked. Many of these cars can be seen in the other albums, but many are only in this one. Getting a good shot of cars moving slowly in what was almost perfect morning light is not that hard. Having a photo you don’t have to crop at all….rarely happens. It did this day as I caught Larry Lilly’s (past feature vehicle) 11-second, turbo-LS C10 almost perfectly in the frame with what looks like only an inch to spare on either end. At the time I thought the photo had cut part of the bumper and thus was junk. Got lucky.

In here we also have some photos from the gravity car races and everyone had their stuff working pretty good. These contraptions must have a brake and adequate steering with few other rules governing the looks. Competition is hot and there is ‘incidental’ contact some times, but it’s all in good fun. This is definitely a big highlight of this great event.

Enjoy.
