(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) –\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>The LAST gallery of photos from the LAST ECTA Ohio Mile.\u00a0 Yep\u2026.this is it.\u00a0 Met a lot of people here, learned a lot, and saw a bunch of amazing things.\u00a0 My kids were introduced to land speed racing here and both love it.\u00a0 The youngest so much so he volunteered to hand out speed tickets at the last two events.\u00a0 When we got home from this very last one he was spouting out names as if he knew the people.\u00a0 I can\u2019t remember someone\u2019s name I sat and talked with for half an hour.\u00a0 First up in this collection is the 2007 \u2018busa rode by Mike Brakel to the tune of 209mph.<\/p>\n

That bright blue hue looks pretty stunning in the sunlight as well.\u00a0 The red \u201954 Lincoln Caprice ran by Richard Martin is Y-block powered and inched out 123mph.\u00a0 We\u2019d seen the AA blown fuel streamliner of Stampede racing before and had really been wanting to see a big number from it.\u00a0 That blown Rodeck is a throwback and totally awesome in a 23T altered chassis.\u00a0 It pounded out 198mph and we\u2019re certain more is hiding in plain sight.\u00a0 \u00a0Bike 9399 is a 2016 Kawasaki Ninja H2 that sprinted past 208mph with Adam Burrows hanging on.\u00a0 We don\u2019t get to see many that aren\u2019t a Hayabusa make that grade.\u00a0 Rarely in these LSR articles do I mention spectator vehicles.\u00a0 For this last Ohio Mile edition I will give a few details about Travis Comer\u2019s \u201964 F100.\u00a0 He drives this truck everywhere and has changed the wheels a few times during the 4 years he\u2019s had it.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a 460\/C6 combo feeding a flipped 9in moving under a C-notched frame.\u00a0 There\u2019s a Volare front clip and disc brakes.\u00a0 The seat is lowered and bed box is reported to be made from allegedly-stolen privacy fence planks.\u00a0 More GM third-generation cars.\u00a0 Chad Dowell\u2019s Camaro has regularly reset its best performance so we expected the same this time.\u00a0 What we didn\u2019t expect was the visual transformation from a base-model Camaro to a Z28 with polished wheels.\u00a0 It is a completely different-looking car and we much approve.<\/p>\n
