(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) –\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>The Duke Energy Center might be a good place for conventions and gatherings, but upstairs might be the worst place I\u2019ve ever tried to take photos of cars.\u00a0 The carpet and ceiling treatments really dork up most colors and generally mottle everything.\u00a0 Doing some color-correction onsite sort of helped, but not much.\u00a0 I\u2019ve long decided to not do color-correction to my photos before sending them in to Bangshift.\u00a0 I do what I can up front, crop, resize, and I\u2019m done.\u00a0 We take too many photos to do individual adjustments to so many.\u00a0 I still do one-off stuff when people request it.<\/p>\n

Anyway…\u00a0 the cars upstairs are no slouches and we\u2019d be slackers if we didn\u2019t head up there to capture them.\u00a0 Since I am Malibu-biased here is a 70s-tastic yellow \u201965 with Cragars, the back jacked up high to clear the extra-wide tires, and all the other right stuff to make the scene cruising main street.\u00a0\u00a0 Little bit from that one was a gorgeous 421 tri-power, burgundy Catalina.\u00a0 Those do not grow on trees.\u00a0 The \u2018Heavy Chevy\u2019 \u201970 Chevelle has been in the same family since new and I can remember seeing it on the pages of PHR and Super Chevy back in the day.\u00a0 It\u2019s a milder version of its former self these days, but is every bit one great muscle car.\u00a0 Didn\u2019t expect to see it and at first didn\u2019t realize it was indeed THE car.\u00a0 The \u2018blue\u2019 Challenger we caught in a side-shot with the door open \u2013 is really purple.\u00a0 Finally\u2026I\u2019d never seen a red GT350H.\u00a0 I had read some existed, but never had the opportunity to see one.\u00a0 I kinda like it.\u00a0 Most special-edition cars typically come only in one or two paint schemes and that\u2019s it.\u00a0 Seeing something different is refreshing.<\/p>\n
