(Photos by James Champion) – We’re back with more great James Champion images from the 2018 Amalie Oil NHRA Gatornationals. This time we have wheels up sportsman action, people wrenching, parts in the pits, and all kinds of other excitement. We dig James’s stye and how he shot the event. He really took a kind of photo journal style approach here and you’ll see that with the images of people both posed and candid. We love the lead shot of the hemi head and assorted parts on the work table. It is like a gearhead still life painting or something.

The weather was a tad on the chilly side at the Gators, especially in the mornings where some of James’s nicest photos come from. You’ll see some people bundled up like Nanook of the North. It wasn’t that bad! Enjoy this latest installment of photos from the 2018 NHRA Gatornationals, there’s some really fun stuff to see!
