(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) –\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Parts.\u00a0 Chassis parts.\u00a0 Tires and wheels.\u00a0 Engine parts.\u00a0 Tranny parts.\u00a0 Parts, parts, parts.\u00a0 This is what the majority of folks visit the swap meet to scrounge for.\u00a0 They need X or Y for a build, repair, or upgrade.\u00a0 We were looking for a deal on a Chevy 8.2 posi unit.\u00a0 We found one\u2026.for almost the price of a new one.\u00a0 There were other things we searched for, but the diff was the unrealized grail of our search.\u00a0 We did see some great deals on other things and some interesting stuff.\u00a0 The Monte Carlo checkered wheels are something I haven\u2019t seen in ages.\u00a0 I spied some SBF valve cover risers\u2026.which I knew existed, but had never seen not on an engine.\u00a0 We spotted more than a few C2 and C3 differentials around the meet.\u00a0 Who really misses the artwork that used to come on aftermarket product boxes\u2026?\u00a0 I know I do and had to capture a few for old times\u2019 sake.\u00a0 4 of them for mufflers and another for a CB radio.\u00a0 People who read my stuff around here might recall my fascination with induction parts and pieces and there are plenty in this gallery.\u00a0 The driveline display was really cool, but I was not totally certain of its origins.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s talk about the wheels.\u00a0 Halibrand kidney-bean 15×8.5 in Chevy small pattern sporting new pie-crusts.\u00a0 Now I know the price of authentic wheels has really sky-rocketed, but $3,000.00 for the pair\u2026?\u00a0 I\u2019m sure someone will pay it eventually.<\/p>\n

In terms of car parts we came away with only a few treasures in the form of a couple carb adapters, a thermostat housing, and my son Taylor snagged a couple good manuals that cover his \u201965 Bel Air.\u00a0 Actually, I snagged them because he is still in high school and without income.\u00a0 They say a sucker is born every minute.\u00a0 I avoid mirrors so I won\u2019t see them.<\/p>\n
