Day 4 Of The FM3 Road Trip Had Us Driving Through Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia!

So in fairness the Virginia visit was incredibly short and on accident, but whatever. Although we did visit a cool park that had us walking across multiple state lines. I was actually standing in Virginia and Kentucky at the same time at one point. The drive was scenic and fun and FAST at some parts where we had a little fun with Ken Kelley and his new Dodge Demon. That car hauls ass! But make no mistake, the Ridetech 48-Hour Camaro’s Lingenfelter powerplant is no slouch and hung pretty good with that bad boy on a pretty major freeway squirt. It was a don’t try this at home kids moment, and is considered a Donatable Offense here on Cars and Cones. Remember, this FM3 Road Trip is a charity event so all the money we raise goes to a great cause.

Cole was thrilled, because he bumped up his top speed ever by about 20mph. I’m sure he wishes he was driving.

But it really isn’t about the going fast parts of this trip. It’s about the scenery, the friends, and the stories. And boy do we have lots of stories! The scenic route that the FM3 Road Trip staff has plotted is by far the best thing about this trip. Man we live in one hell of a beautiful country! This time of year the rivers are flowing, the grass is green, and the trees are leafing up with all kinds of cool colors. This is a special trip, that’s for sure.

We ran the autocross at the Tennessee Smokies Stadium and had a great time there. What a cool little ballpark. Then we headed on over to Dandridge to the headquarters and home of No-Limit Engineering. That place is kick ass and Rob and Tina and the crew put on a great dinner, some tech seminars and also fixed several hot rods that needed some maintenance. There is no shortage of bitchin stuff at No-Limit and we couldn’t have been more thrilled to be there. The entire No-Limit crew was on hand giving tours, handling demos, feeding us, and just standing around bench racing with all of us. I can’t say enough about how much we appreciate it.
