Well, I have to admit that my weekend didn’t suck. I got to drive a bitchin hot rod, Ridetech’s original 48-Hour Camaro, during Goodguys autocross and even managed to get into the Raleigh Rumble Top 16 Shootout. I choked in the shootout with a horrible start, but it was still fun. I am hoping that the Ridetech crew and I can put together a plan to have me racing the 48-Hour Camaro at another city near you soon as well.

Today I’m flying back to the west coast, which means FM3’s Road Trip 2018 is in the books. We started off in Mooresville North Carolina Friday morning for this final leg, and ended up at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh where the Goodguys Autocross welcomed us with open arms. We started our day off early so that we could make it to the Goodguys show in time to run the afternoon session and our timing was perfect. The drive was nice today, and pretty as always, and we arrived around noon to a very tight autocross course that would definitely prove to be challenging. The cool thing is that the Ridetech gang wants me to stay and race the 48-Hour Camaro on Saturday too. The top 16 get into a shootout and that means this is my one day to actually compete without paying for a Donatable Offense. Remember, this FM3 Road Trip is a charity event so all the money we raise goes to a great cause.

But it really isn’t about the going fast parts of this trip. It’s about the scenery, the friends, and the stories. And boy do we have lots of stories! The scenic route that the FM3 Road Trip staff has plotted is by far the best thing about this trip. Man we live in one hell of a beautiful country! This time of year the rivers are flowing, the grass is green, and the trees are leafing up with all kinds of cool colors. This is a special trip, that’s for sure.

While officially the FM3 Road Trip is over, we are glad that we have lots more of Cole Reynolds’ photos to share over the coming days.
