For the better part of Saturday, Chad and I worked in unison on the camera. He’d take off to go run some things or I’d be studying what was going on as an effort to become more involved with my work. (Four years, and I’m still learning who drives what. Study, kids, and don’t break that habit!) Elimination after elimination, round after round went down until just before the sun disappeared over the horizon for good. And that’s when things started to go from good to great. The Frankenstein Mid-West Pro Mod series had been waiting until 7:30 pm to get things going, and they were going to be wild in both Pro Mod and Slammers. Everybody wanted a piece of the pie, and everyone was chasing Jason Hamstra’s sincerely swift 3.703 run.<\/p>\n
As for yours truly, I wanted to get closer than I normally get to these machines, so into the middle of the lanes I went. The closer you are, the more your heart races and there is nothing like the blast from the exhaust as thousands of horsepower rips by you in full fury. I enjoy these pics and I hope you do too!
