(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – If/when this article runs it will signal my return to BS after some months of quiet while I dealt with a recurrence of my cancer. I do have some backlog to catch up on, but I’ll get this most-recent stuff done first while it’s still fairly fresh in my mind.

My dedication to local events and venues continues as I dragged my tired body over to Cynthiana, KY for another rendition of their once-a-year Rod Run which takes over the whole of downtown. This is a historic city with ties to the Walking Dead, Post-it notes, and lots of other nifty things. The Rod Run here has grown every year and many events leading up to and following have enhanced its exposure. This year we had to deal with a couple brief, light showers, but the temperatures were pretty mild for late August in Central Kentucky. Some photos from each gallery will be from a cruise-in at the local Dairy Queen where we stopped to rest and get a little grub.

This gallery has a showcase of classics we found along the streets and parking lots. I did not make it to every area, but it wasn’t for a lack of trying. Understandably this collection is Tri-5 heavy because that’s what most folks build and bring out.

Likely my favorite piece in this group is the ’55 Nomad with matching Shasta trailer. This thing was period inside and out. They had the camper open and we checked it out. It even had the right smell. That stuff brought back some childhood memories from the 70s. All goodness.

Come back and see more of what we witnessed at the Rod Run and as always…..enjoy.
