(Photos by Benoit Pigeon) – It was a battle of man vs machine. It was a battle of man vs nature and it was a battle of cars versus the clock. It was the 2018 Brian Olson Memorial PDRA World Finals and it was a lot of race cars at Virginia Motorsports Park competing for a race win and to lock down season titles in the world’s quickest door slammer drag racing series. As has usually been the case at this event, car counts were big. Top Sportsman and Top Dragster had fields that numbered in the dozens and dozens. The first 3-second Extreme Pro Stock run in history was made by Jeff Dobbins, and the power adder categories were not loafing around either.

Mother nature extended this event beyond its original schedule but the PDRA staff handled the program with their typically dedicated approach and the end result was a race that got finished, champions that go crowned and a 2018 season that got finished.

We’ll be back tomorrow with more images and results!
