(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) –\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>I\u2019m told in the track area of the fairgrounds several informal paddocks exist consisting of like vehicles.\u00a0 There\u2019s a Mopar section, Torino Section, Camaro section, and so on.\u00a0 Sorry, we only made it to one of those, but that\u2019s because the Falcon\/Comet group parked together outside the track.\u00a0 Some of that group can be seen in this collection of convertibles, four-doors, and wagons.<\/p>\n

Lots of cars in here we really dig.\u00a0 I may have seen more \u201960 Chevrolet B-bodies here than at any other event I\u2019ve ever been to.\u00a0 The silver Buick Sport wagon is a favorite.\u00a0 We see a lot fewer of these than we do Olds Vista Cruisers.\u00a0 The orange on white \u201969 Camaro SS looked farm fresh and ready to cruise.\u00a0 Not exactly sure why most folks like the look of these cars, but I am one of them.<\/p>\n

We meet a lot of cool folks and at this event we sat and talked with the couple that own this black, \u201958 Corvette out of Grand Rapids, MI.\u00a0 It\u2019s a real R-code fuelie that no longer has the original powerplant.\u00a0 It\u2019s been in the family for years and they drive it everywhere.\u00a0 They have ties to the Cincinnati area and even have family involved in the origins of this event.\u00a0 We\u2019re hoping to run into them again in the future because we enjoyed hearing their awesome gearhead stories.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve seen some tri-5 four doors converted to two-door hard tops and sedans.\u00a0 To each their own, but we\u2019d definitely rock a more door like this two-tone \u201956 Chevy.\u00a0 It\u2019s a classic ride that you can throw the whole family in for an adventure with comfort and style.\u00a0 We definitely do not look down upon cars with an extra set of doors.<\/p>\n
