(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – \u00a0<\/strong><\/em>So the Cavalcade of Customs is held at the Duke Energy Center in downtown Cincinnati and it uses the first and third floor.\u00a0 Third floor cars travel up and down a massive freight elevator.\u00a0 On the 2nd<\/sup> floor there is a glass-walled crossover giving you a top-down view of the main floor.\u00a0 It\u2019s an interesting perspective and something to check out if you go.<\/p>\n

If you have followed our coverage of this show in years past you\u2019ll note the carpet has changed\u2026.and not for the better.\u00a0 Lighting is still less than optimal and the contrast of colors on the floor make for bad reflections.\u00a0 John Schneider was there Sunday signing autographs.\u00a0 When we were almost done canvasing the room he and a whole gaggle of folks walked up on this motorcycle near us.\u00a0 John autographed the bike then got on it so the owner could snap a photo.\u00a0 Cool deal for them.<\/p>\n

More lowriders that normally I wouldn\u2019t bother shooting, but I suppose my son\u2019s tolerance for different stuff is rubbing off on me.\u00a0 I actually liked both of these B-bodies.\u00a0 The red \u201970 El Camino SS was immaculate and I believe won 1st<\/sup> in its class.\u00a0 The monster Power Wagon was super nice and a departure from restored versions we typically see.\u00a0 All of us had mixed feelings about the Mercedes roadster.\u00a0 It was finished to a very high degree of detail and had many alterations.<\/p>\n

The blue and chrome chopper I think might have won best bike.\u00a0 I thought its simplicity and detail were off the charts cool.\u00a0 We also saw plenty of oddballs and stuff not normally at an indoor show.\u00a0 The blue 300Z has an LS swap.\u00a0 That\u2019s it.\u00a0 Everything else is stock 300Z stuff including the transmission.\u00a0 First one I\u2019ve seen like it.\u00a0 The last two photos don\u2019t really need any description.\u00a0 I would have liked to hear it during the load out later that night.<\/p>\n
