(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – Try to spot more mildly-modified photos in here. This gallery is not loaded with variety unless you consider various models of Chevrolet ‘variety’.

The first photo has the wicked-sounding, blue C3 of Chris Mulberry sitting pretty. This thing has a 427 small-block that makes great noise and commands attention.

I have gone through all my photos a few times and the only year represented by the 1st-gen Camaro was 1969 and all but one of those were orange. Very odd.

Chevelles from 1964 through 1971 were doing an excellent job at representing the model. My personal favorite would likely be the blue ’71 SS with the Cragars. 1st-generation Monte Carlos are an uncommon treat at most venues and we got to see three in downtown Lawrenceburg. I feel these cars are underappreciated. With only three years of production it can be hard to come by a solid example to build and if you want an SS from this era understand they were only produced in ’70 and ’71 and less than 6,000 were made.

Did you know – the 70-72 Monte Carlo shared the windshield, back window, and trunk lid (plus a bunch of other stuff) with the Chevelle…? I didn’t until recently.

I’d likely get thumped if I didn’t mention the sky blue Vega sporting Keystone Klassics and period-correct Don Hardy decal. 70s style builds are really popular right now and I can’t find any fault in that. It was a dark time when diehard gearheads were keeping the hobby alive.

Come back for more from the 2019 ALS Cruising for a Cure.

Hit the images below to expand them and then scroll on to see them all –
