My cam is way radical. The huge lift and very short duration causes valve train noise. I will talk with them about it. Though, last time I was talking to an idiot who doesn't know the product.

You have a lot more patience than I do, I'd demand they hire a shop to replace all of the lifters. Even if the cam is too much for the lifters, you'd think they'd know that and would warn against it - after all, you'd hope they would know the limits of what they build.

I think at this point, I'd consider replacing the cam and lifters with something different and a little more reliable.

I'm considering it. We'll see after I talk to them later today.

Is it Howard's cams that is offering a 5 year warranty if you use their additive on flat tappet cams?

Sorry you're having rotten luck Scott.

Yes, even if it's totally your fault or you flat out drop it on a concrete floor and it shatters into a dozen pieces, they'll replace it free with their optional warranty. I know who's cam I'm buying for the 302 sitting in my garage for my 66.

Yeah, it was another clip. They fixed it up. We talked about about the lash setting and agreed that 1/4 to 1/3 past zero lash.

I'm really tempting fate. Remember these roller tipped rockers I got from Speedway? One broke in half halfway back from Sacramento and I drove the rest of the way on seven cylinders. I got a replacement in the way of a Comp one and installed them. Heck, I broke a Proform roller rocker on my Impala back before I went all aluminum head and roller cam on it. I drove the car with 15 Proforms and 1 Crane Gold rocker for nearly a decade with no more issues.

This is the reason why. The stamped rockers I bought was told they were long slots. They look long slotted to you? Me neither. Not sure if this was my problem, but I'm going to give the roller tipped ones one more try before I shit can them. The rocker on the left is the Comp replacement. The next one I was using on the intake side. The third is the PRW one sold by Speedway. They would replace it for free, but I ended up finding a single Comp one recently, so I grabbed it. The last, longer stamped one I was using on the exhaust side.

the old trick is to see if the bent end of a paper clip will fit between the stud and the end of the slot, at full travel.
