    anyone know t5 trany?

wondering if anyone has a little trade secret to use a s10 t5 trans that has an electric speedo sender with a mechanical cable speedo? the s10 trany is popular for 30s cars and pick up trucks as it has a foward mounted shifter, the 88 and older models are getting harder to find with cable spedo. the electric ones are plentiful .

Someone posted a while back that there is a little box that will handle this for you. I can't pull up the source right now. Hope they chime in....

Abbott X-box and I think Dakota Digital also makes one. Another alternative it so have your cable speedo converted to electronic.

Give the tranny a good look see. I purchased a '97 Mustang V6 T5 to use in my 66 Mustang. The 97 Mustang also used an electronic speedometer. The T5 in my case has a drive & driven gears but has an electronic sender that has a driven gear that works the same way as a convention cable. It's going to be a matter of removing the electronic speedometer drive and just installing the cable on mine.
