Thanks guys... I should be on the road in about 2 weeks... I'll
put the bumper on tomorrow then get back to wet sanding on
the front fenders and hood...I have 1 door to do also.... its slow
going but I;m getting there.... I'll be glad to get it buffed out so
I can give it a cleaning... then finish the inside... that should go
    quick

I got the rear bumper and trailer hitch on yesterday... got the
exhaust hung back up.... the ass end of the truck is DONE... I'm
wet sanding the front end now... the hood and fenders look good
for alignment ... I put in all new bulbs for lights.. just need to finish
the wet sanding and buffing (this time around I'm not getting all the
orange peel out of it.... I'll fine tune the paint later after its on the road
when I have more time).... I'll get the windshield put in this week and
then its jst the carpet and bolt the seats back in.... then give it a once over
and I should be on the road next week.... HOPEFULLY... I also want to do
some carb work.. right now its set up as we ran it on the dyno , no PV but
I want a PV in the primaries so I need to get a couple different sizes and
drop the jet sizes on the fronts.... I need to do a couple of wiring things...
I have all new electrical gauges so I need to run the power wires for them
and the power wire for the stereo ... the speakers are all wired.... I might
change the steering ratio also but that will be in a few weeks... I want to
see how it feels on the road
      EDIT
I'll get some pics today of the ass end so you can see how that looks

This is what the back end looks like now... the bed cover
has 2 struts to hold it up

Man you retired guys are making us working stiffs look like 3 toed sloths - you're hauling azz!

With the bumper installed I understand why the tail pipes looked so long before - the bed cover is very cool.
There's always something new to learn.

Yeah with the bumper on the tips of the exhaust DO NOT come out past the
edge of the bumper.. you dont want anyone walking past the bumper that could
cut their leg on a edge sticking out... mine are about 1/2" short of the rear edge
and on the length of my exhaust it should grow about a 1/2" in length with heat

I got 95% of the wet sanding done(this time around) but it was getting
ready to rain so I pulled it back in the shop... I stopped by the local glass
shop to see if they could put the windshield in at my place or if I had to take
it to them... no problem.. they will come to my place and install it.... one I get
it on the road and most of the bugs worked out I'll start wet sanding AGAIN
and get it nice... till then its gonna be good enough... its shiney

I'm calling the body work done... I might wet sand it again in the
winter but its done for now... the windshield gets put in tomorrow...
I've started doing the carpet so I should be on the road next week
for some short runs and start lengthening it out to shake some of the
bugs out.... but this is what it looks like today
I wont tell you I forgot to paint the 2 vent looking things
that mount on the fenders... I'll paint them next week and
put them on(I cant believe I forgot them)
                EDIT
I still need to do something with the mirrors... they look like crap...
I tried that plastic renew it stuff... what a joke.. I think I'll end up
painting them matte black like the bumper

I will... still gotta finish up in inside and adjust that noisy lifter and I want to
lean down the carb some... smaller squirters... I think I want to put a PV in
it also... so I have to see what I have for squirters and PVs... I need to take
a vac reading to see where it is

Got the windshield installed and the wiring finished up.. I had to lay
the wires in for the rear speakers before laying the carpet... now its
time to lay the carpet and bolt the seats back in... still need to get
both sets of belts for it
                            EDIT
I should start testing this coming week... now I sure hope I dont
                            run into any MAJOR problems

I got the stereo al wired in and the gauges wired in... I'll start the carpet
today.... I was running the car for about 1/2 hour yesterday and seen that
I have a lower hose at the radiator leaking when its under pressure so I need
to look at that.... I'm not real trilled with the oil pressure once it gets hot... its
not bad but lower than I like... but I have to change the oil anyways since thats
the oil I dynoed with and its on the thin side.... I just wanted to run it to burn out
the oil thats been in the exhaust since the last engine problems and MOST of that
                                is burnt out
                                EDIT
I still need to get down to RJS to buy 2 new sets of belts and get the set thats in
the race car re-webbed for the pass seat(that set is on the last re-web , they only
allow 5 re-webs to be certed)
