Norb and I talked at our Collecter Car Appreciation Day gathering at Sonic last night. If we move Lunch time to 1:00 we both think we can do that with ease.

we will be roling in fairly late friday night. i get off work at 530 hope to be on the road by six. Hour and a half drive or so. so we should be there 730 to 8. the two kids will probably slow us down a bit. if the weather man is right, i will be bringing the gto my lemans with no air is just not a good thing in 90+ degree weather. after this past week, i need this mini vacation again.

Reminder Sioux City uses traffic cameras and they really love to send tickets in the mail. Drive the speed limit on I-29 they have portable cameras that can be anywhere, usually right beyond a curve and always between Singing Hills Blvd and and South Dakota. Kind of a "welcome and good bye" from their city. Also there are stop light cameras around the Singing Hills Mall as well as other intersections. See you guys Friday!!!!

For those that are looking for something to do Sunday...

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be at the Sioux Falls air show Sunday. Sioux Falls is about 90 miles north of Sioux City and I believe they are scheduled to fly at 2:15pm. FREE admission!

It is also scheduled to be HOT(both the show and the temps!)!!!!

For anyone traveling I-29 from Omaha. At the Missouri Valley Iowa exit and west a few miles on US 30 (Lincoln Highway) to the Desoto Wild Life Refuge is a "Steamboat Exhibit". Desoto Bend has a museum, visitor center that houses the unearthed cargo from the Bertrand Steamboat. The Bertrand went down when caught up in a Missouri River snag and sunk. More than 100 years later the ship was found and excavated. Amazingly a lot of the cargo was sealed in the absence of air and was well preserved. These items are on display in a climate controlled area behind glass. There is a lot of information about the Bertrand as well as Steamboats of the Missouri. Desoto Bend is a migration stop for geese in the fall and spring. It is really amazing to see the lake at that time.
