Thanks for the advice guys. I feel like this is the right thing. I've been pushed a bunch by my parents in the past and they seem pretty happy with my decision.
Also, i was thinking about selling just the box and keeping the tools, but im kinda attached to it...... I just can't bring myself to do it. Its set up just the way i want.Last edited by Woodward_Dreams; July 25, 2012, 11:16 AM.Comment

keep it.... best part about mechanics and body work is when you do it only as a hobby - having the nicest hobbiest box is the right thing to do.... heck, use it as a dresser when you go to away to college. I went to college, then went back to finish. There is no way I could have survived or made it had I lived at home. When you're a college student living the poverty stricken life is actually cool - they even have a name for it - Bohemian.Originally posted by Woodward_Dreams View PostThanks for the advice guys. Haha for sure. Im going to school locally, so no need to use it as a dresser. It is cool to see friends reactions about the box when they come over to wrench or benchrace.Comment

Im going to Ferris State (they have a campus near my house) for Automotive Management. While some guys end up as service managers, most work for the big 3 or a supplier. Its really just a management degree, that can be used in any industry. I don't really want to be a service manager...Originally posted by milner351 View PostFor sure keep it, I don't have a box near that nice - but I still have the one I got when I graduated highschool and I'm happy to have it.
What degree are you going for?Comment

In any case, if you want the big bucks, you'll need to seriously consider at least a master's degree...Originally posted by Woodward_Dreams View PostIm going to Ferris State (they have a campus near my house) for Automotive Management. I spent my first two years of college drunk and belligerent. They pretty much tossed me out (I guess BBQing on the dorm roof wasn't such a good idea). Than I spent two years working full-time and taking a class or two per semester. Only when I decided that I needed the degree (not because of pressure from my parents, etc) did I return full time (financed by the sale of my '66 'Vette Roadster
). I jumped in the deep end of the pull, pulled 3.8-4.0s and got done in the final two years.
I wish I'd gone to grad school, but by the time I looked at going back I was making more than most folks coming out with their MBAs.I'm still learningComment

We have a ton of Audi dealers, but also a lot of independent german car wrenches because of the stupid money the dealers charge for even simple up keep. $1000 for a brake job? Yeah, sure, Fritz.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver
