RideTech-Sandhills Open Road Challenge update & pics

We have had a blast so far! Everything has gone great!
We ran 136mph in the half mile yesterday & we think we were within 3 seconds of a perfect run on the Open Road Race today (we will find out in a few hours).
Here is a pic of us leaving our home town of DeSoto, KS. Can anyone guess what the shop in the background is?

Here is a pic of our camping spot in the middle of Arnold, NE at the Arnold motel & campground! lol

This one shows the start of the road where the SORC takes place. Lots of elevation changes & very curvy!

Here is one of Optima, NHRA, Top Fuel driver, David Grubnic riding in our Fairlane wagon! He is a very cool guy, LOTS of fun to be around!

This is the start of the open road race.

This is one of the coolest things I have ever done in a car!!! I cant thank the guys from Optima, Bret Voelkel, & all the folks from RideTech enough for this experience. It was truly amazing!

              Results are in!!!
Im a little frustrated! I shouldnt be since this was my first open road race of any kind, but I wanted this one really bad for some reason. And, I know where we screwed up and what we should have done differently now that its over.
Our target was 91mph average, that is for a 55.3 mile race. We averaged 90.741mph. We came in 4th out of 13 cars in our class. We finished right behind David Grubnic! We were 4.1 seconds too slow from a perfect time.
I told Grubby "If I were driving a sedan, your ass would have been mine!!!" lol
It was an experience of a lifetime though so I am not going to complain.
Here are a few more cool pics

                Ya know Sean,
It's a shame you never get the chance to enjoy that car! You should take it out more often...
                Nice pics, thanks for sharing!

But there are no curvy roads in Nebraska! There arent any in the entire US if you listen to Top Gear. Doing what you did is on my bucket list, and I dont give a damn if I win or not. Thanks for the pics of home and the inspiration.

Got any more photos? Dont be stingy now.
