I agree TC, we are all hacks.
any runtime at all with off the shelf stuff and fancy stickers to go with it catches up to not being enough..

Strong long term old american freethinking success, or ricer gone racing seems to be the lines drawn. Composites suck. A hurricane dewpoint in a maine 50 degree autumn.. a whiff of road kill electrified by a wet bay without water. feed the car something to munch on. Composites suck.
an hdpe gasket squashed in a carb is one thing..counting on mystery pressures on composites sustaining where metals once did is a crock of fairy tailing bullshit. those markets can go to hell. Hell. somebodies line drawn for what is power..why? because real power is hell. if a self builder did not catch onto what is really retarding or weak...not many books are going to speak up. nobody does.

I like talking too, not as expert..but how much I fail crap just being "regular".

I am beyond guessing this does not have plastic intake.

why aren't all v8s starting like this one for daily commutes? why? somebody in market leading politics calls it hell.

TC it’s impossible to have a discussion with someone who goggles someone else’s idea's and never puts any of it into practice. You have no practical knowledge to know if what you’re presenting is right. I don’t know of anyone who buys a Cam from a Tech number you call in at. Why would anyone listen to a guy who makes 10.00 a hour to answer the phone tell him a cam for a 20,000.00 engine? Just because you read it from Vizard or me I would discount it and find out for yourself that’s how you will know what works and what does not. Have you put magnets on your fuel line yet? Your mind is so closed off to any point of view that does not re-enforce what you already think, you will miss a lot of what you need to know in life.
I would not move the Mountain its waste time and energy, I would make a tunnel its faster and cheaper in the long run and charge people to use it.

Like I said you miss the obvious because your always trying to be clever, and too smart by half, it’s a shame, you could be a bright guy at this stuff, you tend to work from emotions not analytically, engines don’t have emotions. Like I said before many times, you want to talk about the .05% and you will leave 30% on the table.

              TC post...
Like the guy at Chuck's told me, if they have time to hangout on the internet, they probably don't have that much experience in doing it

I really take offense to that! ..Last week, I went and worked 4 hrs after working a 10 hr day helping my son build his Edsel wagon for Sunday's show.. It was near 100 * those days.. ALL DAY saturday, all night Sat ... Stopping at 9 am to shower and go meet " pit gate close deadline" I was dead on my feet! Remember, I live in an area where "hot" is 80*.
Try churning out 6 new cars in a space of 6-8 weeks!
Of those 6 cars... 2 were 4th, one was second 3 were FIRST!

If that makes me a hack, or an " internet hangouter" thus inferior in your eyes.. So be it!

I suppose, I'm severely burnt out now.. Thus feeling raw...
Done for the year with 2 more shows... Finished!
Untill next year... Life just kept throwing cow pies at us this year!

TC says: But then they are the same guys that won't give up the spec on their motors

                NEITHER WILL I!
I have 2 combos that will run like raped apes with no water for 20+ min...
Tell you my secrets .. F$$k NO!

Ah.. Fergit it... Talking to a wall!

                    I'm finding out...
I no longer am able to pull "all-nighters"
I no longer can work 12-16 hrs straight...
I am burnt out... Never have been before... I've walked away.. Burnt out is different..
I have other stuff to do.. We have a saying "Life gets in the way of derbying". I'm happy to do other stuff now..
Gonna clean up, straighten up, put stuff away and enjoy winter!
It's 4 days after the derby... I am still hobbling severely... Usually takes a couple days, I'm glad the grandbabies are sweeties today!

I was in the same spot, and then Doc told me about this damn Drag Week thing, 15 years away from racing anything, and now it’s back to consuming me again. Not all about the Drag Week thing, but the search for doing it better and helping others do it better too if I can. TC I don’t claim to know everything about all of this I just talk from my own experiences

                        I'm not far behind you.

Since January 1st of this year, I count either three or four weekends I have been home. I'm logging 40 hours at my "day job" per week, and an easy 40-60 hours at my "second job" which is why I've completely lost tolerance for an assclown on here yammering nonstop about "vizard this" and "hot rod that" - I wish that dude would either show us what he's actually DONE (not what he claims he's gonna do, which 100% of the time never happens, ever, he's literally batting 1000 on fail) or just shut up. I'm tired, cranky, I still love hotrodding, but I no longer have tolerance for fools.

Well personally, I dont get alot of news on the new exciting stuff out there, so a picture of a composite high rise manifold was pretty interesting. I am here to learn and hopefully share some things I found out the really really hard way that might help get someone thinking in a different direction. TC has a bunch of new and latest information, comes off as a little bossy, but it sure does not help when all his threads turn to the same insults. Maybe getting the lift and air conditioning his garage would have him pumping out his toys, but for the rest of us, well the majority of us, projects are never really finished. There is always something else to do. At least he has a plan, and is not throwing a motor in the car to get it on the road while he is building the motor he wants in that car. We are doing a total restore on a 67 camaro, the welding and body work is almost done. I didnt want the camaro to be the first paint job, so we bought a 90 jeep to flip, found rusted out frame at the stabalizer, replaced most of the floor, welded patch panels in the fenders and quarters, just so we can get a nice flat car ready for paint. Have had nothing but problems with fisheyes on what should be a stupid flip. We are currently trying to fix holes in my garage at home because the city wants to tear it down and my 66 chevelle is in there. not to mention there is a 68 camaro SS and the 36 Chevy out in the dock also waiting to get restored. I know about not finishing projects and it sucks. Love cars, love to build them, but man it would sure help if his teeth werent getting kicked in each time he starts a thread. There is enough blame to go around for these train wreck threads.
