Four and the spare tire. Or, just the usual crap I carry with me. I wont see any of the work once I put all that stuff back in there.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

I have to pull the front and rear winshields to fix rust to keep interior and trunk dry. Then I am patching the floors.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

2x on this idea. I did the same with the rod through the tail light assembly although mine had a place where it goes through the black trim around the lens.Originally posted by SuperBuickGuy View PostI had the push/pull style on the Buick. I put it behind the tail light - then drilled a hole in a spare lens. When the rod was removed, I had the other lens in place - thus covering the hole completely

On those battery cut off switches the typical part you see is this one from Moroso, be sure the amp rating matches up. I had a mystery ignition issue when my fan and water pump were both on that I finally traced to the cut off switch. A new Taylor with the right amp rating solved the issue.

I guess I will go overkill in amp rating for the kill switch.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

Made a deal to sell all six of my Cragar Street Stars, my two drag radials, and the bald tires on the other four. Plus, sell my old RPM intake to a kid I know. He's a young hot rodder. 2 Novas, '69 and '71. A 454 '78 GMC 3/4 ton and a Acura Integra ricer. The Acura is going away.
If my car ends up on skins or jack stands, I will pull the 10 bolt and sell it right away too. I may take all my spare parts to the Long Beach Swap meet. This will force me to assemble my 12 bolt, get the 18" wheels and tires too. I just found out a friend of a friend makes wheels for a living. He gives great deals and does some custom designs and backspacing. Very cool.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

How 'custom' is 'custom' for the wheels your buddy makes?
Does he do custom CNC centers for off-the-shelf rims, or does he CNC the whole wheel?
I'd like to find out some more about his business...
And hey, how are you routing the cables for your trunk mounted battery? I.e., are you clamping to the frame rail, inside rail/outside rail, and what type of hold-downs/zip ties/clamps etc...Yes, I'm a CarJunkie... How many times would YOU rebuild the same engine before getting a crate motor?

Too early to answer this stuff yet on the wheels. I have yet to talk to the guy.Originally posted by Caveman Tony View PostHow 'custom' is 'custom' for the wheels your buddy makes?

I think I will try to run cable in the frame. Though the frame is not boxed the entire length. I will be using rubber coated clamps where needed. I will write it up as usual.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

I bought a hydraulic lug crimper from HF. I used it once it appears to work OK.

I build all our cables .. I put the lug in the vise, get it hot and half full of solder, jam the cable in.. Then slide a chunk of shrink wrap over it before it cools too much.. Might need to add a wee bit of heat to finish the shrink wrap..Originally posted by Huskinhano View PostI bought a hydraulic lug crimper from HF. I used it once it appears to work OK.

The advantage of soldering is corrosion.. Here in the damp PNW, crimped stuff gets corroded and does not pass juice..
I have used the cast brass lugs with a bolt or allen screw in a pinch.. But impacts in derbys may make them come apart, no matter how tight you get it.. Work good on my flatbed, thoughComment
