  • If you have a long enough travel on the accellerator pedal, try attaching a longer arm to the existing arm and get the pivot ball out further from the shaft, it'll slow down the opening ratio?

    • Thanks Russel, I wasn't having any luck finding them on Summit's site.

I'll make one modification at a time to see how it pans out. Start with a spot on the existing lever.

      • I've used a machine screw ground down on the bench grinder to form the "ball" that the factory accelerator cable end clips on to.

I think it was a 10-32 that fit the existing hole, or maybe a fine thread 1/4", two nuts to lock it down (one a nylock, or drill for a cotter pin)

It looks like the current linkage has another hole about 1" further away from the throttle shaft center line - that's far enough to make a real difference if your cable will work there.

        • I actually already bought a kit from the local parts store and raised it up. Preliminary results are good, BUT I need to raise up the cable base fixture because the thick throttle cable binds up right before half throttle, and doesn't even get to the point of over centering.

          • I was worried about that, I'm sure you'll come up with an elegant solution in no time.

            • Oh it's a simple fix. I either need to get longer bolts or studs and two spacers. No big deal, as I already raised it when I converted to the TBI with two washers under the cable mount, but this needs a bit more.
