        To think that such legendary racers as Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough, Bobby Allison and others of their era would participate in such competition is absurd. They?re too smart to even consider it.
        Wimps!

        Paul Newman ran the 24 Hours of Daytona after age 70 (and he wasn't out there with a bunch of other old geezers either) Hershel McGriff didn't retire from stock car racing until he was in his 70s. Dutch Terstegge ran a 700 h.p. winged sprint car in his 70s. So don't tell me that all the "geezers" are too feeble or too "smart" (chicken) to run after age 50.

        At a minimum, they ought to "time trial" ala Goodwood.
