I really love these cars, is there any Mod get together ware a guy can see them race? THe currrent super mod super stockers are cool cars but these cars must been a great show/sound. I really want to some day build a Maverick with a tunnel ramed Boss 302 and psycadelic paint job in this style ;D

I knew a guy who bought a former MP car, a 57 Chevy with a destroked 283. The flywheel weighed almost 100 pounds. Real drag racing back then.

          ^^^^ legend on wheels.

Spido -- the 'Goose is one bad ass mo-fo. To hear that 331 @ about 9500 RPM on the starting line is truly cool.

I love that car ... it's nice to see it's actually being raced. Moroso's 'vette was another one of my "idol" cars. Is there any vid of TGG?

The Goose was famous in the early 70's all over the midwest and feared in the modified classes. I remember reading some of the tiny hand painted lettering on the car that read "Are you man enough to eat Granny Goose?" :o

While some midwesterners tittered on that one, they didn't know that Granny Goose was actually a potato chip brand from the So. Cal area. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granny_Goose
