LOL...amazing how similar the esteemed Billy Gibbons and my father look alike.
Granted, Dad can't play a lick, but sports a graybeard duplicate of the Rev.'s chin warmer.
David, you're a damned lucky man to have met the kinds of people that you have....never take it for granted. -

I ran into him on my birthday at Bob's back in October. He didn't stay long as he was with a limo driver and I had the impression he was on his way home from the airport. He was walking around with his driver and pointing out cars he thought was cool. I just said 'hi' to him briefly.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

Billy is the man! He's a muscial genius and a mondo car guy to boot!
ZZ Top does not get the true respect they deserve. Their catalog of music is just incredible.
Chevrolet,Balinese,Sheik,Mexican Blackbird,She's a Heartbreaker,etc... It doesn't get much better than that.Comment

Billy Gibbons is one of my heros. I stole most of my guitar licks from him ;) Met him out at the NHRA Twighlight cruise one time, cool guy....

Re: Freiburger's Pic of the Week: The Reverend Willie G.
I had the pleasure of meeting Billy way back when I did a little work on Caddzilla back in the late eighties. He was way- cool then and that hasn't changed. Earlier this year at the Grand National Roadster Show we were talking and later found ourselves at the same get together. When he found out my son had his guitar handy he proceeded to give him the ultimate lesson, an hour with the Reverend as an instructor. Here are a couple of pics where he was showing my son a few licks and his reaction when my son played them back for him. He wore out a Sharpie on that guitar for my boy!
