anyone ever see the Alpine show car from a couple years back? I think it was an Acura something. It had a similar plastic-too-many-speakers interior. It even had the steering wheel moved to the center of the car with a small passenger seat on each side of the driver.

Pure show cars are often form over function. Roth's creations proved that 40 years ago. It's more about art than actually being a functional car. OK, it's runs and drives, but would you want to sit in it commuting to work in it one day a week? Not.

When I look at cars like this, I don't even bother thinking about the functionality and just try to enjoy the artistic execution.

Still I doubt that this extreme example of overkill would ever not be a violation of some kind in my mind.

It reminds me of the Autopia cars at Disneyland, same hard plastic interior.

Looks like what would happen if ricers got ahold of KITT.

I guess i'm boring. that stuff just won't work for me. I remember Dobertin's J-2000 from way back in pre-history. You know the one....flip up body wit chrome cage - 2 blowers, 2 turbo's - 2 of everything..and more gauges than autometer had in stock. couldn't really understand all that back then and still don't today. I appreciate the work though. i think. I guess I'd rather put a cad motor in a chevette. seems like a better use of time to me....

I had posted these back on CJTV.
IMO this interior is the worst ever.

So I was at the Car Craft show this year working as one of the MC guys and doing some video stuff for the car craft website.

I happed upon this thing with the camera man. Here's the conversation.

Camera guy: "We have to do something on that thing."
                    Me: "No we can't."
                    Camera guy: "Why?"
Me: "Because I'll probably start MF'ing the owner on camera and it will just be a waste of time anyway."

That is simply in another class of horrible.

This interior is totally awesome. It only needs 2 things to make it just perfect:
                      1. Plenty of gasoline
                      2. A lit match
