Texas Hot Rod Reunion - April 26 & 27 2013 - Little River Dragway

...Due to the EXTREMELY FAVORABLE responses from Little River Dragway’s Texas Hot Rod Reunion Saturday June 9 & 10 2012 - The race has been scheduled earlier in the Racing Season in 2013 where Spring Temperatures should be a LOT more tolerable for Vintage Drag Racing enthusiasts who have a tendency to be a bit older and more heat sensitive.
...Saturday and Sunday April 27th & 28th Little River Dragway will be holding Open Competition in “Heads Up” Trophy Class Racing, in “Foot Brake” E.T. Bracket Racing, and will be having Exhibition Runs & Open Drags for folks that just want to enjoy going down the Historic Old Dragstrip with Pre ‘72 Cars, Hot Rods, Vintage Dragsters & Vintage Fuel & Gas Motorcycles. …Competitors will be treated to a COMPLETE RACE PROGRAM each day with Eliminations in each category all the way down to where Winner’s Trophies & Prize Money is awarded. Racers may run either or both days in both Class Competition and E.T. Brackets too.

Yep... Last year we did this race on the 9th & 10th of June. I got involved after the date had been set. It was a GOOD WEEKEND. Lots of folks liked the fact that we still Classify the cars and run them Heads-UP as opposed to "Index Racing" which is kinda like an e.t. handicap bracket race - except all the cars are "dialed in" the same e.t. AND we also RAN 2 e.t. brackets each day with the program. Folks liked the 2 day race format where we ran a complete race each day WITH a Party Band Saturday Nite in the middle of it all.
...After traveling to get to the dragstrip - Everybody liked the fact that you don't have to hurry and you get some time to enjoy a whole weekend with other gearheads. It would have been better last year except it was scheduled when the weather was already getting a bit too hot for us people old enough to enjoy this kind of weekend and the race was scheduled on top of the hugely popular Republic of Texas Biker Rally which actually attracts a lot of car enthusiasts...
...SO - This season, we've moved it up to the last weekend in April AND it ought to be JUST RIGHT Weather wise then for everybody to enjoy a weekend at the track.
...ALSO - We had a few vintage drag bikes take us up on inviting them and the Car Freaks enjoyed their 2 wheeled bretheren so much that we've got a pretty good line up of Vintage Nitro Harleys coming including twin engine ones....
....AND - PLEASE excuse the typo on some of the first notices of this race. Little River Dragway will allow folks to come in Friday April 26 and set up for the 2nd Annual Texas Hot Rod Reunion Drags and they can get in a few early laps during the track's Friday Nite Street Racing Program where there ain't no tellin' what sort of vehicle will make it down the historic 1/8th mile track. The Hot Rod Reunion will then go for the rest of the weekend with racin' all day Saturday and Sunday with a GREAT band Saturday Nite playing long into the night... Mark this one down - Weekend at Little River Dragway April 27 & 28..

YEP!!! - Folks can come in for the weekend starting at 2pm Friday afternoon. There are NO CAMPING CHARGES of any sort.. However, folks that are coming in Friday will be asked to pay for Little River's Friday Nite Street Racin' Program ($10 a head) along with Saturday & Sunday's Texas Hot Rod Reunion Drags Admission. $25 for both days.. If you want to get in a few laps early - for another $10 you can get out and mix it up with the locals - It's a pretty good Friday Nite Crowd. There's usually some sort of $50 & a trophy to win "Jackpot Race" that's included in the $10 Firday nite race tech fee..
...You can stay Friday - Saturday & even Sunday nght if you like. We've got a GREAT Band lined up for Saturday Nite (Pete Barbeck & 7th Son - Old Rock *& Blues) & a Pin Up Girl Contest On Stage Saturday Nite...

OH YEA _ I wanted to remind everybody that the "early versions" of the advertising for the 2nd Annual Texas Hot Rod Reunion were kinda OFF by a day.
...The "dummy" (me) was looking at a 2012 calendar when he put out the first batch of advertising for the 2013 show and so there was a little problem with the dates that were listed.
...THE 2013 2ND ANNUAL TEXAS HOT ROD REUNION DRAGS WILL BE HELD SATURDAY APRIL 27 & SUNDAY APRIL 28.
