I worked in a Chevy dealer when I got out of HS, worked the back parts counter for the shop. One day this guy comes in with his new Chevelle. he's complaining of an engine noise. I wish I had a camera. The mechanic pulled out the camshaft. There was this big divot in one of the lobes. It literally looked like the grinding wheel when it was ground got pushed straight in. it was a moon shaped. new cam, the car was once running smooth and quite. A day later it comes back because the noise was still there. it was a noisy speedometer cable, the guy didn't notice the loud tapping from the engine before.
