  • Hot Rod Deluxe

Just picked up a copy of HRD. I haven't had a chance to read everything yet, but I did flip through short-attention-span style and read everything up to Headscratcher article so far.
I know it was a staff effort and that Mr. Freiburger is no longer with the company, but from what I understand DF pushed for it and made it happen. Not to mention the copious ammounts of photos credited to him, especially in the roddin'-at-random section (including the one of Chad making salt angels). I must say, he did a great job as expected.
If you like straight axles and stacks you've got to grab this one.

      Re: Hot Rod Deluxe

I just got one today.Reminds me of HOT ROD in the early to mid 1960's before the Mustang -Camaro crap took over.A little slim on features, but it's a prototype, just like this site is now.A very good start.Like the editorial states, I voted!

I got my copy yesterday. I enjoyed the whole thing. Everyone needs to get a copy so it can continue.

Who's taking over DFs job on this mag?

          Re: Hot Rod Deluxe

I read it from cover to cover at the bookstore and then left it on the shelf. Alittle thin for $6.99 IMHO. My date did the same. I did purchase TRJ which went up to $14.99 and he purchased a hot rod book. Both of which we thought were better values.

whew... True belly laugh...hurt so bad I couldn't stand it any more...

Great story behind that line... and totally worth a thread of it's own.

                Re: Hot Rod Deluxe

I bought it, got it home and read about half of it in the library (bathroom) before I realized it was actually associated somehow with HOT ROD magazine!
                Cooooooooooooool!
Liked it so much, I decided NOT to use it for wipe!

We like this mag over at HAMB, it reflects the popular scene today.
