Re: Gateway International Raceway closed for good.
I have a few good memories there.
#1 - running 10.08 in Parish's truck at Drag Week 2005 on our way to an SBPA win. September 2005.
#2 - Huber's first 8 second pass, right off the trailer, first run with an EMS-pro after upgrading from a BS3. April of 2007.
Gonna miss the place.

Yeah......it was all over the St. Louis
news today.
Remember the days when we'd park on
the levy and watch the races...before they
changed up things.
Only thing left in the area are 1/8 mile tracksThom

At the track? I went there for 20 years and never had a problem on the property. I'd feel safe changing a tire on the road outside the track at MMP, but East St. Louis near GIR? No way.GM G-bodies, because I can't afford a 69 Camaro.
