  • Who is the greatest movie bad ass?

I'm sitting here watching Jeremiah Johnson and thinking, "who's more bad ass than this guy?"

There are some good ones out there, but ol' JJ lives on the frontier, kills bears and stuff, had his whole family wiped out, and eventually kills all the guys that killed his family. Plus he helps a bunch of people out along the way, etc. He's not just a motivated bad Jose, but he's got a good heart.

So, who's the greatest movie bad ass?
That which you manifest is before you.

I'll tell ya, the Vigilante series (edit - woops - Death Wish), the first one he hit a thug with a sock full of nickels and liked it. The he advanced to more potent weapons. Back in the day, that hit a revenge nerve, and I think that's why those movies were so popular at large.

But the actor himself, Charles Bronson, in the movies he was sure a sure nuff badass, somebody you wouldn't want to cross if you were a bad guy. I can only remember a scene from the news where he got arrested for doing a sit-in with a bunch of hippies about something...talk about passive? He, in person, was a mushroom.

So, they're all acting. That's why they call them actors.

Well I seldom sit still long enough to watch a whole Movie and it sounds like Jeremiah Johnson is badder asser then my pick but I have to go with Clint Eastwood. This was probably before your time Brian but maybe you watched one of his Movies from your crib, he played the "Dirty Harry" character among others.

Yeah, Brian was sipping breast milk when Dirty Harry was kicking ass, but Eastwood wasn't at all bad in "Grand Torino," either. A movie named after a car that wasn't at all about a car. He was good in all of them.

Brian I was flipping through and saw JJ as well. I kept going though cause I just got done telling my girlfriend about it and want her to see it. I said he reminded me of her old man when he was our age. Great flick. Another guy who reminds me of JJ is a man who lived in Alaska alone for years. Look up "Alone In The Wilderness"

I think The Magnificent Seven was pretty bada$$. They kicked butt for a good reason. And look at the lineup. Yul Brenner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn.
                OH YEAH
                Long haul 07. 08. 10, 11, and 13. Looking forward to 2014

That's debatable - From Josey - that movie was just too long, but it was good - "The buzzards gotta eat, just like the worms."

That may have been my favorite movie line ever. Sorry, this thread is about bad asses. Okay, more bad asses. Sorry. I always disrupt things.

What about Joe Don Bake as Sheriff Buford Pusser in Walking Tall?

The Man With No Name....he was pretty hard core.

Or How about Rooster Cogburn...."Fill your hands you sonofa bitch"

Toms Slelleck and Sam Elliot in the Sackettes....

JJ is one of my all time favorite movies.

However, without that prompt, my immediate reaction was Clint Eastwood.

Eastwood as "Walt" in "Gran Torino" is so understated as a BA it makes him even more BA.

I always thought Eastwood was more badder asser in his spaghetti westerns. Fist full of dollars, Good bad and ugly, etc.
