Yep..they where better in the old days. This old movie,is a norwegian attempt..but not a bad one. They hired an old rally driver (Trond Schea)here in Norway,to do the driving..this is good.

I have to disagree with most everyone of that last video's claims of added stuff. Most stunts are filmed without sound. It's all added later.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

Old car chase films are GREAT. CGI and other tricks totally ruin chases made today.
Before David Rigby (imdb link) made it big as a stunt coordinator, my dad had fixed and loaned cars to him in late 70s/early-80s. I'm pretty sure my dad loaned out his candy-apple red '71 Boss 351. According to some interwebs searching, Rigby may still be working out of Montreal. I may have to bother him to see if he remembers my pops.
Scott makes a good point about overdubbing. My biggest pet peeves about car chase audio are when:
1. Sounds do not remotely correspond to what's on screen (ex. screeching tires on dirt ???)
2. Sounds are recycled from other films. Listen to the Bullitt, the Seven-Ups and Vanishing Point chases... [/end rant]Last edited by Darren N.; September 18, 2011, 11:31 AM.Comment
