      they have yet to run a fwd car , just body panels
      I like when they let the thunderbird lower the roof four inches and stretch the front end , raise the quarter panels , run dart heads that had no part number , secretly approval an intake manifold, that got dales jarrett disqualified at bristol in victory lane in a busch race the year before , 3 days before the 96 daytona 500
      because chevrolet was beating ford's head in for 15 years

          This is just a rehash of http://www.bangshift.com/forum/showt...armville-quot-)

          Chevrolet has gotten SO much free stuff from NASCAR . . . .

          Laguna S-3 nose;
          Monte Carlo SS Aero Coupe legalized when only 200 were sold in '86;
          Pontiac 2+2;
          Free championship gifted to #3 in 1990 because of a penalty for a welded spacer that had no effect on performance, but looked then the other way when #3 crew reinstalled wheels outside of the pit box;
          "Corporate" engines in Olds Cutlasses and Buick Regals when the Gen II Monte wasn't slick enough to beat Pearson and Petty on the superspeedways;
          Ford 9" and aftermarket top-loaders in GM FWDs;
          Repealed "5&5" spoiler rule because of bitching by the Lumina teams;
          Laydown nose on the FWD Monte Carlo;
          Rule banning testing knowing of Hendrick's advantage in shaker post machines;

          Lots of other freebies for GM listed in the "Vanity Post" thread.

                        It’s funny how Chevy is just running power pack heads still. What came out with a RO7 or a SB2 in it ,or even back then a 18*, or symmetrical Buick head like Gant ran, or the Canted valve heads? Production Bowtie Blocks what did that come in?
                        Its all of them not just one.

                          same can be said for pro STOCK engines.. bodys, etc.. oops.. if racing cars used stock parts, we'd have no motorsports as the deaths that would have come every week end would've put an end to all forms of motorsports years ago..
                          even the good ole days in drag/nascar/trans am.. nothing was stock, it might have looked it. but it wasn't..
                          dusters with paper thin sheet metal.. stock my @$$..
                          acid dipped bodys, or paper thin alum. parts.. ya , any joe blow could walk into the showroom and buy that.. not a chance..
                          to bad the ole folks have selective memories, and think their gen of racing was real deal stock..
