  • Old Car?

So the new "Chevy Runs Deep" commercial is about a man getting his old 65 impala back after 30 years of not owning it. It honestly made me tear up a bit.

Have you guys ever looked for your first or a car the you used to own? Are you in search for an old car?

I did not know that became a commercial.

it is at the heart of something..cool story.

if to search for something my dad had, it would be the plymouth wagon. the front end was something you would see most often on some special coupe with a big hemi.. very odd. he got it very cheap. I clearly remember hub caps, and tires too small to make sense. big wagon.
he remembers that car, remembering me real small, he said I used to pretend to work on things, about as tall as the bumper.

...being really unpersonal, cars can do something.
to have as many cars as he went though before giving up, it would be the plymouth to find (I know I never will).

I read the blog too, that is where I saw the non-commercial.

anybody got a 68 roadrunner front end on a wagon?

I wonder if someone in new england kept it. a common dodge dark green.. a 318. I remember by my own memory igniton parts..distributor stuff.
he did not like that..rain triggered problems.
other than that, he loved it.

Loren and I just got rid of my High School car a couple years ago, 74 Turquoise Blue Chevy Luv Truck, my second car is in Loren's "yard" Dark Moss Green 67 Mustang.

I think we are hoarders and maybe should be on that TV show...

I doubt that my dad would have the same reaction if I found his tan '76 Vega after all of these years.

Still have my first one, and the ones I sold were not dear to me at all. I have kept all the cars I have been fond of, or that have treated me well, and certainly the ones I dreamed of owning when I couldnt afford anything.

Cool commercial - I guess I missed this post the first time around Evan, thanks.

Some people still have their first nickel - not me though unfortunately, they come and go WAY too fast.

I spotted the first Chrysler I owned (second US-made car I owned, and 3rd car overal) on our local ad-site today. It's my old '67 Newport.
Safe to say I don't really have the desire to own it again. It hasn't exactly 'improved' since I owned it, and I sold it because I had owned it fro 13 years already AND the work on the car required to keep it running got too time consuming...

This is how it looked when I had it in my possession...

... and here was supposed to be a pic of how it looked now, but the damn thing has been sold already again as the ad is down already... lol

I saw that ad while watching a great 100th Chevrolet anniversary show on Velocity Monday night. Great show, great ad.

I always keep an eye out for my old Cutlass convertible, but honestly, I don't want it back. A big block, 4 speed, 442 version of it, yes. The actual one, well, we had many good years together....
