Okay, I wasn't a rich kid... we used a playing card and a clothespin and the fad wore off quick.
Then , the 80's.. everything was Turbo!
Good to know some things haven't changed much?

I had the Eval Kineval twist grip that made a motor sound on my huffy .... its up in the attic somewhere

I had one of those on my sons bike years ago, it was pretty damn cool and loud, used to piss of the neighbors.
If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower.
