I came along a bit earlier than that.

My mom was too prudish and conservative to ever let me have Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots. Too violent.

Never mind, there was another kid in the neighborhood who had it.

And Operation, that repulsed Mom, too. Never mind, another kid in the neighborhood had it. That's a game you could play by yourself. Steady....steaaaaaaddddddy..... dang.

And later, did any of y'all have that tabletop game, the wooden maze where you had knobs connected to strings underneath the maze that tilted the maze (pitch and roll) to steer the marble around the maze and miss the holes?

Smash 'em up derby was one of my favorite toys. I stopped using the rip cord because I didn't think the went fast enough. I'd fling them along with my hands until peices started coming off that weren't supposed to, oops! Eventually, too many parts wound up under the fridge and the fun was over.
Just groovin' to my own tune.

not much for toys, I am with peewee, someone else had the games.

in fact, I think pbs was the channel my mother had us watch to avoid tv commercials ..

..and she was serious about stuff.
I always ended up building something with toys. Not much of an actor..

I remember the slip and slide...we had one of those, siblings sharing.

I had the yellow Cuda that shot sparks out of the bottom. Great toy -cheap and a lot of fun, thode cars were really fast!!

We used to get in trouble for leaving black marks on the gym floor in Elementary School......a friend had a glittercoat white van that threw sparks. That REALLY got the teachers attention!

The spark ones were also fun to run through a small puddle of fingernail polish remover.

I did. Addicted to it. great game. and old style slot cars before they had magnets ? Those magnets (AFX) really ruined slot cars. My early ones had flat washer like 'tires' and you had to lift to get around the corners. They would actually do burnouts and spin out if you didn't lift....... the track was held together with metal pins and plastic 'hooks'........ I had a couple SST cars. a purple LSR lookin' car... it hauled A$$!! Bruised my sister's ankle real bad once... Mom took it away for a month.

I had both SST's and the smash up ones. If my annoying older sister got too annoying I'd pull that rip cord and stick that spinning SST wheel in her hair. They would have to cut it out.

Had the derby cars, a 57 Chevy. Didnt have much room to run them, and with my idiot older brother they didnt last long. He liked to destroy anything I had.
