Thank you for sharing these. Brought back memories and the recollection of when flying was special. Now it feels like riding a long haul bus. Reminds me that airports are always under construction.Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence? -
cool site.
seeing a 707, and what they called a 720..
the tankers in the military had 717 as stamps and called c135. right in the middle someplace.
the 720, if to be plane collector..that would be one to keep in the barn.

the others are pushing boundaries like a 4 foot tall person made it and a greedy bastud stretched it out.
I was a crew chief on the tankers..alot of years before me. remnants of smokers. Ills unknown to man.
up close to A, E and R... my own time was E models.
got a tour of the vomit comet, and the recon tankers... very big. they used real 707 stuff.
my own assigned tail number is junked...not quite to 50 years.Last edited by Barry Donovan; November 24, 2012, 11:26 AM.Previously boxer3main

Terminal 3 was built by TWA. It's the one that has changed the least over the years. The gate area of the building still looks the same.
If you wondered what space ship brought those weirdos to Hollywood, there it is. Those small barrel roofed buildings were just bulldozed this year. The new tower is sitting behind them. The Terminal 5 sign tower is still there, but the building goes right out to it now.

Great photos, thanks for sharing that link. I grew up pretty close to the Toronto airport, in the late 60s / early 70s I remember those 707s being VERY loud going over our area.
cheers
