  • I'm Suprised at Me

This is just not me. I'm a happy person. I laugh, I joke, I like to think I'm fun most of the time (but that's for others to judge).

Every day, I dump my junk folder, stuff that's filtered on my email. Phishig stuff like fake "from" addresses, like it's from LikedIn, but in fact, when you hover over it, it's from Cheech in China. Just dump it, it doesn't matter.

Today, one message title in the junk box really got under my skin. Remember this is not me. I don't behave like this 99% of the time.

I figured out a way to answer the junk mail message without opening it. I'll bet it didn't do any good at all, maybe a computer sent it. I dunno. But this felt really good. But it probably didn't DO any good at all....

    Wow, you're still on XP!

A lot of spammers take other people's mailbox's to send their nonsense (there's no secuirty on most email). Someone somewhere is probably wondering who you are and why you hate them.

They do it because they can.
sometimes even the spam being spammed has no goal.. its like a denial of service attack.

no goal.. just throwing power around.

I hardly get bothered, been years. I did find someone from the Ukraine logged into my facebook, and someone at facebook outsmarted it before anything happened. I wonder how long or what they used to bombard people to gain info.

the spam stuff used to be part of that, the phishing.

I get soooooo much stuff because my email addy is on my website on proud display, on multiple pages. The bots find it and it's a real field day.

I don't guess that's any worse than the recorded phone calls we get even though we're on the "don't call" list. The benefit of being on that list has definitely worn off. "They" have got that beat, big time with the recorded messages from a phony phone number. How do you cuss out a recording? You can, but nobody hears it.

Mom is deaf.. Has one of those phones you talk into and the other person's converstation is shown on a screen.. Works on outgoing calls as there is a person typing inbetween... She will let it ring then yell into it...
We tell her to let it ring and ignore it! No dice.. She is from the " party line " days...
