In an attempt to quiet things down a little in the interior, I spent today laying in some sound deadener/insulation under the rubber mats. I used a material I bought at Lowes called peel and seal. A lot like Dynamat, but way more inexpensive. It comes in a roll and you just cut it and peel off the paper backing and stick it on the floor. It sticks really well. On the test drive, it made quite a difference, the sound level is down and feels overall more solid, plus cuts down on the heat coming from underneath. Like!

Let us know how well this works. I need to do this for heat mostly on my Impala.

I went the same route with the sound deadener / insulation and was very happy with the results. Love the wagon too.

Lowes "peel and seal" -- added that to the master list. Scratching off Dynamat. Thanks for the great tip.

Peal and Seal - check indeed - perfect timing - this will give the falcon a happier interior - no way I'm paying dynamat prices.

I looked it up on lowes website and come up with roof sealer that's only 6" wide roll - is that the stuff?

I thought Randal and others had talked about using the bubble insulation stuff - like this:

Yes, it's a 6 inch wide roll and 25 feet long I believe. It's about 16-17 bucks a roll. I used 3 rolls to do my floor front and back. I'm sure you would get an even better result if you put in 2 layers. I haven't used Dynamat before so I can't say how it compares, but I think it's a pretty nice budget alternative.

The stuff I used was foil backed foam with adhesive that came in a 12" x 15' roll. I found it at Menards and Home Depot, both places were $16-$17.

The 57 is now in place at the GNRS at the Fairgrounds. Building 9 is dedicated to a special display of woodies & wagons, beach type vehicles. I'll post a few more photos during the weekend.

New promoters wanted to bring it back to LA. Cow Palace in SF isn't big enough anymore. Oakland Collesium contract dispute likely. The usual things.

Fun weekend! Thursday night before the show opened we were treated to a party in the Woodies and Wagons building by the promoter Axle with a live Surf band (The Eliminators), champaign and cake. My wife and I had a great time. It was really cool for the old wagon to get the rockstar treatment, it's a first for me to have a car in a show this big. I hope a lot of you got over to the show, it's definitely worth seeing.
