    Time for tires

The tires that came with the rims I bought for the Blazer about a year ago are pretty much done now.

This is on my 82 C10 Blazer (Full size 2wd in case you don't know what C10 means)... I use it to tow a 12' trailer daily. The rims are 15x8" truck rally wheels. The current tires are 255/70/15 Cooper Cobras. I do like that size and how they fit the wheels, but I want a better quality tire this time around - I really like Michelin LTX MS or MS2, which don't come in that size.

Would a 235/75/15 look stupid on a 8" wheel? Anyone have pics of that size combo? The 235/75 has a 7.3" tread width (where the 255/70 has about 8.5") and is 28.9" tall (almost the same as the 255/70).

I don't mind a slightly narrower tire if it won't look bad, but I really want good quality tires for longevity, a smooth ride, towing, and wet and dry traction.

    Opinions are welcome!

-edit- I know a 31x10.50 would probably look good on the truck (even though it's a 2wd) and fit nicely on the wheels, but with 3.08 gears AND an overdrive in a vehicle that rarely sees 70mph - that's too tall.

You may want to check into a 30x9.50-15LT tire. At 29.6" tall, they will fit an 8" rim with no problems (recommended 6.5" - 8.5" rim) and the LTX MS is definitely available in that size. Another good option for this size is the BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A. Both the Michelin and the BFG offer extremely long wear and great service.

It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.

Like Ron says....I have some of those size tires on 8" wheels on one of my trucks, they're old used tires that I got on a truck I parted out. I had no idea they made that size...it's almost a direct replacement for a 255/70
