    GM Steering wheel interchange

Going to hit the 'yard in a day or two looking for a new tiller for Buford T Justice. Are there any odd interchange situations regarding GM steering wheels? I think I am going to look for a Camaro wheel or something similar. I'll have my caliper and a puller with me!

Most of the 69-up wheels will fit, I think. As long as it's from a car with a similar looking column you should be ok.

^^ I couldn't remember the years. The Vega/Camaro/Nova 4 bar "GT" wheel fits just about every GM I've owned, but it was all '72 up stuff. Some of the Pontiac Gran Prix wheels where nice, as were the 442 wheels. They might look too citified for Buford though. The GT wheel would look right. The horn stuff should all be about the same iirc, the push and turn pin kind.

'69 up for sure, but some of the telescoping column stuff is a little weird. Make sure to get the little spring loaded contact thingy with the wheel-there are different lengths of them.

Cavaliers are a good source for the Camaro/Vega GT style wheels.

Brian, one way to check, but not foolproof, would be to look at the online application guide for steering wheel adapters from Grant or a similar company. Compare the kit number for your car vs. the number for the vehicle that you want to use one from.
