    AFR recording

What is the best way to record air/ fuel ratios? I know some use a AFR meter using an O2 sensor, but I want to be able to record it and tie it to RPM and other factors. I rarely have help when I am working on my truck and don't think it is a good idea for me to be looking at and recording info from a gage while I am driving.

Does a MS have this capability? What low buck choices are there? I will be fine tuning a carb- efi is on the back burner indefinitely.
Why think when you can be doing something fruitful?

MS will do this very nicely and lay it over the top of Converter slip/time into the run/ intake temps/ intake pressure ......... getting the idea?

MS can do it, you can set up all the sensors you want including a wideband, throttle position, rpm, coolant temp, etc.

Then just run MS TUner Studio when you drive, and turn on data logging

Sounds like THE plan for me. I already have the MS.

LM2 is finicky, I have one. A lot of people have problems trying to log with it, few others seem to do OK. Use your MS, it's the perfect way to "step in" to EFI too if you want to later on.

I dont like just numbers, I prefer a large screen and using graphs, with muti inputs and out puts, this cuts down on tuning for non events, its more for me about trends and seeing why a adjustment may need made. I dont run a same afr or ign timing the whole track do to loads and time into a run. We are just scratching what we can do with Doc MS3 and I am going to switch to it on mine. Graphs are where its at for me.

I run a data logger on the race car but thats a bit much for just
                checking A/F... I also have a LM-1 but dont have the rpm/recorder
for it YET... I plan on getting the recorder soon

There is more than a little work required to buy, install and configure all of these various inputs. While there are other ways to get simple RPM/AFR logs, the addtional data you can get with an MS setup can make carb and spark tuning, not to mention the ability to measure and then tune air inlet and other variables/inputs makes that route a really powerful tool for street driving or racing. It can also be cheaper than the LM2 route, but be prepared to do more up front work and you'll need a net book computer at a minimum.
